I'm hosting an online community gathering on Saturday, November 23 at 3pm ET.
There are a lot of different ideas out there about what comes next. We Are Worth Fighting For (a joint project of Indivisible, MoveOn, Public Citizen, Working Families Party, and other partners) offers a structure for how to hold a space to process, strengthen community, and begin to ready ourselves for the future.
We always knew we would still have work to do after election day, no matter the outcome. Now it’s time to take a beat and integrate with each other so we can be ready for what’s next. You may feel this moment calls for something different, or you may want to be part of larger public responses. This is meant as one option, and there's no judgement if it's not the right fit or time for you.
We'll start with a little bit of processing and integrating, but then we'll dive pretty quickly into: what now?
What will each of our roles be over the next four years and beyond?
What needs doing, what are we good at and what brings us joy?
How will we care for ourselves, our families and our greater community?
How can we build an inclusive movement?
Let’s follow some journaling prompts, share immediate actions and/or resources and get prepared to meet this moment.
You've done so much to elect trustworthy leaders, promote fair policies and safeguard our democracy. Now more is being asked of us to protect our communities and our futures. We don't have to do it all, but we can each find a few places where we can make a difference.
If you want to join me on Saturday, November 23, RSVP here :) Bring a snack or drink, a notebook and any book recs, articles, links, resources you want to share. I’m not sure who will show up, but even if it’s just me I’ll be doing some journaling and trying to identify where I can best serve in this moment.
Fantastic, Christine! It's empowering seeing these worlds meet.
